Renal replacement therapy service planning model

March 23rd 2011

We thought you might be interested in a little demonstration of a renal replacement therapy planning model we've been working on recently. For a quick and painless introduction, we've created a simple little movie for your viewing pleasure.

We created this interactive model in Excel to help commissioners plan capacity for a Renal Network’s dialysis service, the sessions and beds required to meet need. The aim was also to assess the impact that service configuration changes or clinical decisions made to the flow of patients. The commissioners now use the model to allocate their budget in this service. The model also acts as a common framework for shared decision making between commissioners and clinicians. Further detail on this study is available here, or alternatively please feel free to contact us at Bazian – we would be more than happy to tell you all about it...
