Bazian’s Dr Alexandra McAleenan features in the C3 newsletter

August 2nd 2011

Our own lovely Dr Alexandra McAleenan and Dr Rob Cook attended a workshop for the “C3 Collaborating for Health Early Origins of Health” initiative. The initiative aims to study the impact of maternal health on the development of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disorders, and ultimately to set in place and champion interventions in low- and middle-income countries to support women to have a healthy pregnancy and for children to have a good start in life. At the workshop Rob presented the report Bazian compiled, which identified the most promising areas for intervention. We’re all thrilled to provide evidence-based support to complement the expert opinion that C3 has sought. The next major step for the project will be to establish a pilot project.
